Well, it has been another fun summer, but all good things must come to an end.  I've had to put a lot of work into the garden this fall, so it's been a while since I've had time to post.  Today is a rainy day and I won't be able to work outside, so this seemed like a perfect opportunity to catch up with my daylily friends.  These are photos from my garden and around the country.  Really nice toothies.  I am excited to share these pictures with you.  Check them out:

You probably wouldn't guess that I am into patterned daylilies more so, but if you live in Ohio...chances are you have a love for toothy daylilies as well. I do enjoy them and always have.  Hope you enjoyed this segment as well.  I hope to follow it up with my patterned daylily segment next.  When I have time....of course.  Happy gardening.

What a summer!!!

                                   Seedling: Dr. Stump X Gaudeamus

Seedling: Precious Candy X All Things to All Men.

Well, it's been a while since I have written or posted pictures and seeing how the season is starting to wind down I thought I would post some of my seedling pictures.  My main love is patterns, but as you can see I also love teeth and blue eyes.  Here are some more pics below:

Seedling W47 out of Waves of Joy.
Seedling: Waves of Joy X Zoe Allegra.
Seedling: Marilyn Morss Johnson X Whale Tails.
                                   Seedling: Jinxy X Whale Tails
                                  Seedling: Spinefeld X Veto.
Seedling: Four Beasts in One X Ripples and Reflections.
I wouldn't be from Cleveland, Ohio if I didn't post that our Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2016 NBA Championship.  We haven't had a championship in this town since 1964.  We are all very proud of our Cavaliers.  1.3 Million Clevelanders went downtown for the parade. Here are some pictures from them coming home at the airport and the parade itself.

Daylily pictures taken by my friends.

Tavern on the Green (Paul K. Lewis) Photos taken by Nikki Keeton Schmith

The month of May is here and it is gradually warming up.  It's been a tough spring in Northeast Ohio.  Probably one of the coldest Aprils I can remember.  Anyway, I wanted to share a couple photos taken of my introductions by friends.  Looking forward to being able to post some daylily pictures in a couple months from the garden.

Both Tavern on the Green and Dick Goddard are sold out, but can be purchased on the lily auction. They are being sold by Abundantdaylilies.  Thanks for checking in and here's hoping everyone is well.

Crintonic Gardens....the daylilies of Curt Hanson.

Curt at work roto tilling his seedling fields.

I am very lucky to only live 10 minutes away from one of the nicest daylily gardens in the country.  I like to share some of the photos I take every year.  Curt has introduced daylilies for 30 years and every year it is fascinating to watch which direction he will take his program next.  Below are some of his seedlings and introductions:

Well, I hope you enjoyed this installment of my blog.  Hope to post some seedling pictures as they bloom in the months of July and August. Happy gardening.

My visit last May to Ladybug Daylilies.

                                      Ladybug Daylilies (May 2015)

One of my favorite daylily gardens to visit is Dan Hansen's Ladybug Daylilies. I first
met Dan Hansen, through my neighbor, Curt Hanson.  Dan would come up to visit Curt every July and I got to know him better and better with each visit.  Dan has been hybridizing since 1994.  His daylilies are as tough as nails, because Dan never babies them.  Dan also has one of the most diverse daylily programs I have ever seen.....and I have seen a lot.  Dan will take the time to show you around and is always willing to help newbies with suggestions of what daylilies to grow and how to go about hybridizing.  With nothing further, here are some of Dan's intros and seedlings.

Dan Hansen seedling. (Had to be the best one in the garden that day!)

Dan Hansen seedling. (Same seedling, but a close up on that incredible blue eyezone.)

Dan Hansen seedling. (I loved the shape of the eyezone in this one.)

                                        Ladybug Daylilies (May 2015)

I hope you enjoyed the visit to Ladybug daylilies.  To view Dan's website click on: http://www.ladybugdaylilies.com/   Make sure you visit Dan's place when you are down in Florida.  One of the best daylily gardens down there, if not in the whole country.
