Crintonic Gardens....the daylilies of Curt Hanson

Having lived two doors down from Curt Hanson for eight years and living only 10 minutes away now has given me the pleasure of watching Curt hybridize since 1999.  I believe Curt is in his 60's now and he has hybridized for 26+ years.  His first introduction was Ocean Rain back in 1987.  Curt has given a lot of his time to organizing daylily events and helping young hybridizers such as myself, get started in their desire to learn how it's done.  I find that Curt's daylilies have amazing plant habit replete with awesome bud count, branching, and height.  Featured at the top of the page is a couple of garden shots.  Below are some of my favorites from the earlier part of the season photographed in early July.  Curt is making some really cool advances in sculpted daylilies.  Here is a sampling:

Pictured above is Acquired Tastes, introduced in 2010.

Pictured above is Lust without you.

Pictured above is Mork and Mindy.  Nice melon color.

Pictured above is Jerry Hyatt, and excellent daylily out of Tet. Trahlyta.

Pictured above is Articulate Matrix.  An excellent patterned daylily.  I hope to feature more on Curt's daylilies in the weeks to come.
