Guy Pierce's seedlings

Since about 2009, Guy Pierce and Karen Pierce started the process of becoming the new owners of Floyd Cove Nursery in Deltona, Florida. Guy does the hybridizing and Karen handles the business aspect of Floyd Cove.  Guy Pierce is 58 and has 523 registered daylily introductions to date.  The daylily world was saddened to learn that Guy and Karen are in the process of selling their property and so Floyd Cove Nursery may be closing for good.  I personally had hoped a daylily person would buy it and carry on the legacy of Floyd Cove, but so far that hasn't happened.  I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me that getting the Floyd Cove catalog every winter was the highlight of their off season. Guy has really pushed the envelope forward with incredible achievements in patterned daylilies, toothies, and especially daylilies with huge green throats and eye zones. I have visited Floyd Cove Nursery over the years and always enjoyed growing Guy's daylilies.  Here is a collection of Guy's most recent seedlings posted with his permission.  Enjoy!

WOW! What an incredible sampling of seedlings.  Guy you have really pushed the envelope forward! Thank you Guy and Karen for all your contributions to the world of daylilies. Always a pleasure to see you and look forward to a continued friendship for years. All of the above photographs are the property of Guy Pierce and use without prior consent is prohibited.  So, this kicks off another blog season.  I hope to do at least 1 interview and keep a couple of my usual segments going.  Stay tuned.
